About ECF

Elemental Clean Fuels develops, owns, and operates clean fuels and decarbonization infrastructure across North America, led by people who have spent their careers building, financing, and running energy projects.

Our story

Elemental Clean Fuels exists to execute the capital-intensive work that drives energy transition. We know how to generate decarbonization infrastructure projects that get financed, built, and run for decades.

Our founders joined forces after building and leading projects that moved the industry.

They have been at the helm of the development of power plants, renewable and biofuel projects, publicly traded fuels companies, and significant Indigenous-partnered energy projects. They launched ECF with the relationships, credibility, and judgement that only that kind of experience produces.

What we do

We develop lower-carbon fuels and decarbonization infrastructure across these areas:

Low-Carbon Gas

Low-carbon gas including renewable natural gas or biomethane and green hydrogen for utilities and industrial users

Maritime

Low-carbon fuels like e-methanol and biomethanol, produced in stable jurisdictions and delivered for bunkering at scale.

Aviation

Sustainable aviation fuel for global aviation markets

Data Centers

Clean power for emerging demand, across data centers and electrified fleets

We don’t chase novelty. We’re technology-agnostic. We choose what’s proven and financeable, and we engineer around the challenge in front of us.

How we work

We lead with the customer.

We’re disciplined.

We own the outcome.

We’re human about it.

We treat safety as the standard.

Safety and responsible development

Safety is the foundation of everything we do, for our teams, contractors, partners, and the communities that surround our projects. We design for it, report on it, and never trade it for speed. Responsible development means the same discipline is applied to people and places. We engage early, truthfully, and are committed to leaving things better than we found them.

Our backing

ECF is backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a specialist energy-transition investor. Their support gives us capital at the stage it’s hardest to find, and a partner who understands how these projects get built, not just funded.
